How to measure your dog for a Harness?

It can be difficult to know what size dog harness, coat, or collar your pup needs. We have created a size guide so you can find the perfect fit harness for your dog!

Measuring Your Dog

You will need to measure you dog’s chest and neck circumference to know which size of harness you need. Whether your dog is small, medium or large the same method will be used. All you need is a flexible tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler.

Step 1: Measure the chest circumference the area shown below by arrows. Measure the widest part and remember to leave room for comfort. Usually you should be able to fit two fingers in between the harness and your dog.

Step 2: Measure the neck circumference the area shown below by arrows. Measure the widest part and remember to leave room for comfort. Usually you should be able to fit two fingers in between the harness and your dog.

Neck Circumference:

Our harnesses are adjustable at the neck and chest. The harness should be snug for safety but not too tight for comfort.

Harness Size Guide:

Small –

Neck 35-44cm , Chest 41 -54cm

Fits example breeds:

Maltese, Pomeranian, Jack Russel

Medium –

Neck 39-51cm Chest 46 -61cm

Fits example breeds:

Shih Tzu, King Charles Cavalier, Pug

Large –

Neck 42-56cm Chest 57 -83cm

Fits example breeds:

Springer, Beagle, Border Collie
